SETUP.EXE for SecureFTP Plugin (ssh/sftp)
for Christian Ghisler's
Total Commander

Description: This Plugin (Open Source and Freeware based on the ssh implementation PuTTY) is written for Christian Ghisler's Total Commander (TotalCommander). With this Plugin you can use sftp services instead of the unsecure ftp service to transfer files to ssh/sftp enabled Servers.

The plugin is written by Hans-Jürgen Petrich and a few bugfixes where applied by Martin 'Kanci' Kanich.
See their homepages for future versions and bugfixes.

My contribution was only to build a nice little graphical setup.exe around the existing plugin. As the distribution in a ZIP-file from the original authors webpages needed some minor complicated manual installation, this setup.exe makes the task of installing the plugin on several machines a breeze. The setup.exe was created with Nullsoft's Installation System NSIS and you can also download the generator script file below – to make further improvements. If you have suggestions or bugreports regarding the setup-process, write me an eMail.

READ LICENSE&DISCLAIMER BELOW, BEFORE DOWNLOAD.
Download current
totalcommander_sftp_plugin108c_setup.exe (based on version 1.08c)
Download current NSIS-Script
setup_tc_sftp_plugin.nsi (v 0.2) to build your own setup.exe.

Hint. After successfull setup of the plugin, TotalCommander shoud restart. Now you can access your SFTP connections via TC's „Network Neighborhood“ (Netzwerkumgebung) e.g., from the ALT-F2 dropdown list. Then select „Secure FTP Connections“.

What setup.exe does:
- Automatic detection of TC directory (1. from registry, or 2. from $WINDIR\wincmd.ini)
- Automatic closing of running TCs
- Installation of the Plugins DLLs to TC-Dir
- Writing of dummy wcx_sftp.ini only, if none exists. So Updating dosn't kill manually edited sftp-entries
- Registering Plugin in wincmd.ini
- Writing of tc_sftp_uninstaller.exe
- Uninstaller gets registered at SystemControlPanel/Software/Uninstall-Page
- uninstaller cleans everything up, setup.exe did (only wcx_sftp.ini won't be deleted!)

LICENSE. There's was no licence for this plugin mentioned anywhere, so the actual licence is that from PuTTY (on which this plugin is based on). See PuTTY licence for details.
